South London based Dance Artist

My work is concerned with the embodiment and exploration of external instructions and language, arising from discourse and dialogue. I work with the body and objects, initiating ritual and repetition, to create parameters for play and exploration. A central consideration to this is, how can we meaningfully collaborate through close and distant relationships? Can the intimacy of live making with others be ‘stretched’ and cross boundaries of distance and time zones?

For participants, witnesses and collaborators in my process I am interested in what remains after the event. Firstly in the memory of those involved and secondly in the trail of documents left behind. Further to this, how the process can be presented to an audience for participation and embodiment, where this ‘event’ should take place and how the process can remain open, perhaps even never ending.
